Si je vous dis qu’à Nairobi, il existe un bus anglais au fond d’un superbe jardin et que ce bus peut accueillir jusque 6 personnes pour y loger, me croyez-vous ? Je vous avoue que même moi en découvrant cet endroit j’ai douté. Et pourtant, le Brandy Bus existe et je vais vous expliquer en quelques mots pourquoi vous aller adorer réserver ce logement !

Nous avions prévu de retourner à Diani en avril, puis comme tout le monde le sait, en avril on était tous chez nous et les frontières étaient fermées. J’avais trouvé cette charmante maison d’hôtes, Sukuma et quand on a décidé, un peu sur un coup de tête de s’envoler en septembre, ça faisait sens de recontacter notre hôte. Cette maison à l’architecture typiquement swahili m’avait tapée dans l’oeuil sur les photos et je ne fus pas déçue en la découvrant à notre arrivée.

Après 3 bonnes heures de route, arriver à Kibuye est toujours un plaisir. Le lac, l’atmosphère, et cette sérénité que vous offre cette charmante ville balnéaire sont une jolie récompense après une route un peu abîmée par endroit . À Kibuye vous pouvez loger à l’hôtel bien sûr, au Cormoran Lodge dont je vous parlais ici ou au Rwiza Village, que je vous présentais il y a quelque mois déjà . Mais si comme moi, vous voyagez en famille ou avec des amis, peut être préférez-vous la tranquillité d’une maison qui vous offre un espace plus grand qu’une chambre et une totale autonomie. Si c’est le cas, waterfront house à Kibuye est l’adresse qu’il vous faut ! Cette jolie petite maison se trouve au bord du lac à quelques minutes du centre et est proche de différents hôtels pour les jours où vous n’avez pas envie de cuisiner .
Diani Beach is a major beach resort on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya, it is located 30 kilometers south of Mombasa. It can be reached directly by plane, but from Kigali it was easy to have a flight to Mombasa , and then using the ferry and road to arrive at this small paradise .
This town was just a fishing place 40 years ago, but in the 70s when tourists wishing to come to Africa found Kenya the ideal place, as there was so much strife and problems in other African countries and it was the beginning of a touristic boom. Hotels were built along the coast road, which was at that time a dusty road. Since then Diani has continued to expend without losing its charm and simple atmosphere. You will not feel that you are in a very touristic area if you avoid the big hotels.
Nairobi is a beautiful and vibrant city. If you have the possibility to do a citytrip , you definitely should! Even if you are going on safari in Magical Kenya, take some time for Nairobi : you will not regret it!
There is plenty hotels, but I am a airbnb addict. I love the idea to have a place for my own, to enjoy the city as a local for few days and following my rythm.
I love Airbnb. When we arrived in 2014, this service was almost unavailable. Since then , hopefully for me, the offer has increased. What I love with Airbnb is to have the comfort of a home and this feeling that you live there… Even if it is for 3 days only. With kids it is really great, you can follow their rythm, they have more place to play and can make more noise. With friends also ( for the exactly same reasons 🙂 ).
