4 adresses gourmandes à Stone Town

Bien sûr, il y a la street food à Stone Town. A chaque coin de rue, vous êtes transporté par des odeurs d’épices, de grillades, la vue de petites étales où les gens font parfois la file tant tel vendeur a bonne réputation . On peut sans aucun problème se nourrir uniquement de street food, et  ce du petit-déjeuner au souper .  Chaque soir, près du port le marché nocturne de Forodhani Gardens se remplit aussi de vendeurs de brochettes, pizzas zanzibarites et autres délices. Mais si vous préférez, le plaisir d’être assis et bien installés, alors voici quelques adresses qui ont ravi nos palais durant notre séjour .

Jambiani & Paje : adresses pour les foodies !

Si vous me suivez sur Instagram, vous savez que les restos ça me connaît . Dans notre famille, les repas sont sacrés même pendant les vacances, il faut bien manger. Pas obligatoirement  dans des adresses stylées et chics (mais on aime bien aussi), j’ai une passion pour les petits bouibouis où généralement on trouve de supers bons plats très bien préparés et à petits prix. Cela dit c’est agréable d’alterner petites adresses locales et endroits un peu différents avec une carte qui offre autre chose que du local. Du coup aujourd’hui je vous propose 6 adresses testées et approuvées durant notre semaine à Jambiani. Il y en a pour tous les budgets et tous les styles . Et la plupart se trouvent juste à côte de l’hôtel où nous séjournions, dont je vous parlais ici!

Koko Club : the kids friendly café in Kigali.

Founded by parents, the concept behind Koko Club was to have a space where kids can play together safely, while parent can chill with good and healthy food. The place is awesome and with my family, it is clearly our new Sunday ‘s spot.

Visit Diani Beach

Diani Beach is a major beach resort on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya, it is located 30 kilometers south of Mombasa. It can be reached directly by plane, but from Kigali it was easy to have a flight to Mombasa , and then using the ferry and road to arrive at this small paradise .

This town was just a fishing place 40 years ago, but in the 70s when tourists wishing to come to Africa found Kenya the ideal place, as there was so much strife and problems in other African countries and it was the beginning of a touristic boom.  Hotels were built along the  coast road, which was at that time  a dusty road.  Since then Diani has continued to expend without losing its charm and simple atmosphere. You will not feel that you are in a very touristic area if you avoid the big hotels.

3 foodie spots in Nairobi

Nairobi is definitely a food spot. This city is a mix of different cultures and you can feel it in the food scene . I didn’t have the opportunity to try a lot during my 48H-stay but these 3 places really worth a visit! 

The Tin roof café

There is so much things to say about this little place in the suburb of Nairobi. The old fashioned atmosphere is lovely. Metal chairs with floral cushions, comfy couch, old pictures framed on the wall, everything is inviting.

Boho Eatery

Located in the very residential area of Karen, Boho Eatery will offer you a lovely and serene space for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The place was well recommended and was totally worth the trip. Beautiful setting in a big and luxurious garden, with a lovely patio. You totally understand the name when you arrive there : a lovely bohemian atmosphere is the best way to describe the place.
