I heard about La Locanda  few months ago, and it is always with nice comments. So when I decided to visit Musanze, I couldn’t choose an other place to stay. And the rumor were true, La Locanda is a hidden gem where you feel at home and privileged with the care you receive from Alberto, the owner.  It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and you will really feel good there.

Alberto’s place is a classic brick house that he had decorated with an Italian touch. Each room is different and all offer you a little terrace and your own bathroom. The differents rooms are settle in a lush garden, where birds sing all day long. The beds are VERY comfortable which is really important after a day spent in the volcanoes, or with the golden monkeys or the gorillas.

Each morning, in the patio, you will be served a very consistant breakfast with eggs, bread, veggies and then fruits. In the evening, you will have the possibility to order pizzas and pastas, and with an Italian owner, let me tell you that you will not be disappointed! The pizza with eggplant was one of the best I had since long time! All the people in the guesthouse share the common area, and you meet great people spending time with them like they were old friends.

For less than 80$ (in average), La Locanda is the best quality-price option in the area, and of course in the high season, don’t forget to book in advance !
